6 pool renovations for moms-to-be

If you’re an expectant mommy, you probably want to make sure you’re taking good care of yourself and your little bundle of joy. You’ll want to be comfortable during your pregnancy, which might mean making some changes around the house. While you’re at it, why not make your pool as soothing as possible?

Here are six renovations that are great for moms-to-be.

1. Salt system
Some women experience acne or other skin problems at some point during their pregnancies because of the hormones. Trying out new cosmetics or medications might be risky, which is why all-natural remedies are the way to go. Get a nice glow that many pregnant women rave about by upgrading your generator and swimming in your pool more often.

Install a salt system generator, which pumps out more salt and less chlorine than a chlorine generator. According to Women’s Health magazine, salt gives you beautiful skin, hair and nails. A swim in your salt system pool is like taking a nice, warm bubble bath with your favorite body scrub. Allow yourself to reach ultimate relaxation during each trimester with a salt system.

2. Handrails and steps
With that baby bump you might find it’s harder to do typical day-to-day things, like exercising and even walking. Install handrails on your pool so you can get in and out of the water safely every time. Depending on your pool, you have several options to choose from.

While you’re at it, why not get new steps as well? You can pick ones that enhance the overall aesthetic of your backyard. Not to mention, outdated steps are dangerous to walk on, especially if you’re pregnant.

3. Fountains
Choose from wok pots, waterfalls, gushers and sheer descents. Like adding a salt system to your pool, these features can increase your comfort. The sound of running water is known to be soothing and although many soundtracks can capture the experience, there’s nothing quite like listening to a trickling waterfall in public.

4. Pool deck
No mommy-to-be wants a slippery or dilapidated deck. If yours is getting old, there’s no better time to repair or replace it than now. Take care of those cracks and chips to keep you and your growing family safe and sound.

You only have to replace parts of your deck every few years, so by taking care of it now, you’re saving yourself the hassle down the road. It’ll be good to go until your baby is walking and running around.

5. Automation
As the months go by, your tummy will get bigger and bigger, which means it’ll be a little trickier for you to get around. Avoid having to get in and out of the pool so often to turn on any features by having your pool automated. If you happen to be lounging on your tube, you don’t have to move an inch to turn on your LED lights or fountains.

6. Pool interior
If your pool has seen its better days, then go for one or all of these features. Start with the interior and work your way out. This way, you’ll be able to use the pool for exercise and leisurely activities throughout your pregnancy. It’s a great tool if you have it at your disposal.

Call Fort Worth, San Diego or Phoenix pool service professionals if you’d like any of the aforementioned services. Clients who are in good standing are eligible for a free salt system. While they’re sprucing up the pool, you – the expectant mom – can take care of other things, like getting the nursery ready.
