Is It Safe to Swim in Public Swimming Pools? May 27, 2020

As the weather continues to heat up, many of you are looking forward to cooling off with a dip in the pool. Before you dive in, you might be wondering if it is safe to swim at your community or public pool now that the stay-at-home orders have been lifted. The answer is yes, it is safe to swim in public swimming pools as long as you follow the local and state guidelines. To learn more about how to stay safe when swimming at a public pool, check out the latest article from Banner Health.

COVID-19 and Pool Prep: What to Expect April 29, 2020

While the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) remains under the world’s microscope, we at Poolman aren’t forgetting about the other microscopic dangers that threaten your pool every day.

With summer fast approaching, it’s very important to keep up with pool upkeep, especially now that you have other things on your mind. Fortunately, pool maintenance is an essential business, and we’re here to help. Here’s how Poolman is doing everything we can to ensure your pool will be ready when you need it.

Repair Schedule

We continue to offer preparatory pool maintenance, while our staff recognizes and respects social distancing guidelines as provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Just give us a call or email to set up your maintenance request, and we’ll work with you to fit your facilities into our schedule. Please ensure your request is as thorough and complete as possible, which will help us work with as little disruption as possible.

Filtering and Sanitation

A stagnant pool is an unsafe pool, and Recreational Water Illnesses (RWIs) are a constant threat. According to the CDC, E. coli, Crypto, and Giardia will likely pose even more danger to your pool than COVID-19.

At this time, we recommend that you continue necessary filtration and sanitation services with us. We’ve worked with our suppliers to ensure the chemicals you need to keep your pool clean and safe are in stock.

It is important to mention that permits may be delayed as our local and state governments work tirelessly to combat COVID-19. Even so, pool maintenance remains a crucial component to ensuring your facilities will be ready when the time comes. Failure to maintain and sanitize your pool could delay its opening even further.

Expect more updates from us in the coming weeks and months. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

As always — and especially during these difficult times — we’re honored to serve you and continue to work together.

Our Response to COVID-19 April 9, 2020

Poolman is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and updating you as it unfolds.

Due to the fact that our pool services are a necessary business, we will continue to operate on a normal schedule during this temporary crisis. Not doing so could be even more dangerous to the thousands of pool and hot tub owners across the state.

We have the utmost safety and sanitary concerns for you, your family, your facilities, and our employees. We always pride ourselves on our cleanliness, but even more so now.

We are implementing all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • With proper maintenance and chlorination, your pool and/or hot tub should be safe. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs.” As long as your pool is properly chlorinated, the virus should be removed or inactivated. However, we still recommend that you follow the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing, even when using your pool or hot tub.
  • We’ve ramped up our already stringent cleaning and sanitation procedures. All our employees have been informed of the latest health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
  • We’re working tirelessly to keep your pool sanitized and ready for the season. We’re coordinating with our suppliers to secure the products and chemicals needed to ensure your pool remains safe and ready to use.
  • We are having most of our office staff work from home. If you need to contact the office please contact us via email or phone. Our staff remains available to answer any questions that you may have and a member of our staff will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
    • We have instructed everyone on our team to stay home if they feel sick or at all unwell.
  • We will be limiting our route and repair technicians’ contact with other employees as much as possible. We will be doing this to protect them, our staff and our valuable customers. We are requesting that our staff as well as our customers communicate via phone, message or written note for your technician.
    • If you do need to talk to your technician when he/she is on site, we are requesting our technicians and customers follow the CDC’s guideline of maintaining a 6’ distance between each other.

We’re ready to move forward as planned, ensuring your swimming pool is ready when you want to use it. We are dedicated to providing you with the quality and care that you expect us to deliver.

While the news is changing every day, we promise to update you as we learn more. Of course, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
